Installation of your mobile home

Have you found the ideal location for your mobile home?
You have one last step before you can enjoy it: installation.

Once the mobile home is delivered to the plot, you will still have some work to do on leveling, connections, water setup, or installation of ancillary equipment (shed, terrace…)

You will therefore still need a bit more patience and take the time to organize the services of the various involved parties, whose availability may span a few days or even a few weeks.

1- Mobile home leveling

This is a very important step in the installation of your mobile home. Indeed, poor leveling can lead to deformation of the mobile home and cause problems with the opening or closing of doors and windows.

Call upon a professional who must refer to the manufacturer's leveling plan.

You will also need to have a control carried out one or two years later to check the stability of the leveling (in case of soft soil for example) and make adjustments if necessary.

Attention: Leveling does not mean fixing! According to the AFNOR 556-410 standard, your mobile home must permanently retain its means of mobility. It must be placed on supports not fixed to the ground and stabilized by props so that it can be moved at any time.

2- Electricity connection

The power delivered by your campsite regarding electricity can sometimes be too low. In this case, it is possible to install a load shedder, available as an option at purchase. It will allow cutting off certain non-prioritary circuits (e.g.: heating) as soon as the defined maximum power is reached to allow other appliances to function. It will therefore prevent your electric meter fuses from blowing too often.

In some PRLs (Leisure Residential Parks) you may even have your own electric meter.

3- Gas connection

To cook or to have hot water, you must necessarily be connected to the gas. Today, most standard built-in hobs work on gas. This can also be the case for other appliances or accessories such as heaters, for example.

Note: An approved professional must necessarily check the startup of your water heater. They will ensure the proper functioning and safety of the installation. This process generally serves to officialize the start of the manufacturer's warranty from the supplier.

Connections to town gas are rather rare. You will therefore have to find out about the type of gas you must use (butane or propane) and obtain your bottles.

Attention: these bottles must necessarily be plugged in and stored outside your mobile home. For aesthetic reasons, you can use lockers designed for this purpose. They will also play a protective role.

4- Water connection

There are 2 types of equipment: 'Caravan Comfort' and 'Grand Caravan Comfort'. Both offer access to water supply networks and drainage of household wastewater. The 'Grand Caravan Comfort' also allows drainage of wastewater.

This information must appear clearly in the plot description. Be careful regarding this when making your choice.

Before carrying out the water setup of your mobile home, an approved professional must necessarily check the startup of your water heater. They will ensure the proper functioning and safety of the installation. This request generally serves to officialize the start of the manufacturer's warranty from the supplier.

5- All comforts

Often, you will have to install your own antenna, but sometimes certain campsites or PRLs (Leisure Residential Parks) offer you a connection to a television antenna or a telecommunications network.
