Maintaining a Mobile Home
Although requiring little maintenance, here are some tips to preserve the general condition of your mobile home.
Maintaining the exterior of the mobile home
Vinyl siding maintenance
It is very resistant and can be simply cleaned with a water jet . Easy to repair: the slats are generally removable.
Wood siding maintenance
It all depends on the look you want to give it over time.
You can choose to let it age naturally .
It will thus lose its natural color for a silver gray.
To give it a natural and homogeneous gray appearance from the start , apply a stain.
To preserve its original wood color , use a stabilizer from the start to prevent deformations due to sun exposure (to prevent the wood from graying for 6 to 8 months). Then apply either a colorless stain or penetrating wood stain that tints the wood (3 coats). 2 to 3 years later, apply another coat again (ideally colorless)
To
renovate unprotected siding and restore its natural color
, use a de-greyer then apply a stain or wood stain.
Gutter maintenance
To prevent any risk of infiltration inside the mobile home, gutters must be regularly cleaned and cleared of leaves and other debris.

Walls, partitions and ceilings
Using a slightly damp sponge and a little soapy water , wash your surfaces then wipe with a soft cloth .
The floor
Most mobile homes are equipped with linear flooring that is easy to clean and maintain.
The furniture
Our furniture is generally made from scratch-resistant materials. A sponge and a soft cloth are enough to clean them.
The bench seat
It is often removable . You can recover the fabrics to machine wash them. (Be careful to follow washing instructions). Some bench seats are made from ultra-resistant polyvinyl materials that can be cleaned with a single sponge wipe .
The technical systems of the mobile home
We advise you to drain the gas and water systems during the winter season. This will avoid any freezing-related problems during your prolonged absence.
Your entire gas system must be inspected once a year by a qualified professional.
Lifespan of the mobile home
Good maintenance of your mobile home will extend its lifespan but the desire to change it will probably eventually come. Either because your tastes will have changed, or because your needs will have evolved. Depending on its condition, your mobile home can be resold as used or will be destined for destruction .
For environmental protection, leisure accommodations are now easy to dismantle and therefore recycle. Some companies have even specialized in deconstruction.
